How do I choose a qualified doctor to treat my condition?
Since your health is important to you, be assured the person responsible for your health has the necessary credentials, training and experience. Confirm qualifications, academic affiliations, or memberships in professional associations. For sleep disorders; Dr. Fritzsche is a Diplomate of the American Board of Dental Sleep Medicine. For TMJ disorders; Dr. Fritzsche is a Distinguished Fellow of the American Academy of Craniofacial Pain.
Is treatment covered by my dental or medical insurance?
Treatment for sleep apnea is covered by your medical insurance and treatment for TMJ disorders can be covered by either.
Does insurance help with the cost of treatment?
Yes they do. The insurance company’s financial responsibility to you is based on the contractual “level of coverage” you or your employer purchased. The specifics of your contract and its coverage will be researched and explained to you before treatment is started.
I have a PPO medical plan but Dr. Fritzsche is not listed as a preferred provider. Can I come to see him?
Yes, with a PPO policy you have the freedom to choose any doctor.
Why isn’t Dr. Fritzsche a preferred provider on my health plan?
To be a preferred provider with a medical health plan, the doctor must be a doctor of medicine (M.D.). Dr. Fritzsche is a doctor of dental surgery (D.D.S.). Oral appliance therapy (OAT) for the treatment of Obstructive Sleep Apnea (OSA) can only be treated by a D.D.S. because OAT is “outside the scope” of any other doctors license. TMJ disorders can be treated by either but are most frequently treated by a doctor of dental surgery.
I have an HMO medical plan. Can I come to see Dr. Fritzsche for my treatment?
Yes. As with all HMO policy’s, members agree that all treatment must be provided within the network. In order for services to be paid outside the network, a referral must be authorized from your primary care physician (PCP).
I have two medical insurance policies will you bill both?
We will be more than happy to bill both but assignment will only be taken on your primary policy
How do I pay for services?
Payment is due at the time of service. Cash, personal check, MasterCard, Visa and Discover are accepted.
Do you have an appointment policy?
Dr. Fritzsche provides personalized “on time” care. In order to accomplish this he must schedule one patient at a time. Because time is valuable to us all, if your schedule changes and you are unable to honor your commitment it is your responsibility to notify this office at least two (2) working days in advance in order to avoid a late cancellation fee.
